Création collective de Necessary Angel Jeune loup du monde des affaires, "I" est ambitieux et désire parvenir rapidement au pouvoir, à la présidence de l'importante compagnie pour laquelle il travaille. Trois hommes et deux femmes incarnent tour à tour "I". Tous vêtus de complets gris, ils sont la tête, l'esprit de "I", en cinq compartiments, en cinq facettes complémentaires mais parfois contradictoires. "Thriller" psychologique, MEIN est le reflet de l'esprit tourmenté et manipulateur du jeune exécutif. Mime, masques, humour et chorégraphies sont adroitement utilisés pour nous confronter à la psyché du personnage: à ses cauchemars et à ses pulsions, à ses insécurités et à ses espoirs. Portrait d'un certain univers de la haute finance, MEIN a gagné, en 1984, le "Dora Award" de la meilleure nouvelle production, à Toronto. Five actors—three men and two women— take turns playing "I". All dressed in grey suits, they are five complementary but sometimes contradictory facets, five compartments of "I"'s mind and spirit. A psychological thriller, MEIN reflects the tormented and manipulative mind of the young executive. Mime, masks, humour and choreography are skilfully woven together to take us to the heart of "I"'s psyche: his nightmares and longings, his insecurities and hopes. A portrait of a certain realm of high finance, MEIN won the 1984 Dora Award for the best new production in Toronto. In a staging that hints at claustrophobia and suffocation, we are shown the complexity of human ambition and what some are ready to sacrifice for success.
