NO PLACE TO CALL HOME
How does she become a woman? How does she bring herself up unassisted and become an adult when she speaks tiny fragments of language and masters not a single one, when she's never been anything for anyone? Her name is nobody, and she starts her life with her threadbare pockets full of hope, encountering along the way the destitute, the homeless, the unloved, the stateless. At the end of the road lie adultery, possible triumph over exile and the hope of rebirth.

The writer of this whimsical epic, this tender and solemn fable about childhood, Marilyn Perreault is also the main performer. She deploys a fantastic flourish of words in theatre that is acrobatic in both word and gesture, creating an initiatory journey that ranges from the farcical to the existential, from the inarticulate to the heartbreaking, from toying with evil to hovering on the brink of the abyss. These are the Apatrides - stateless, unknown orphans emerging from childhood.
