Theatre of Fire and Light
F as in Fire, Flame and Fiery. F as in Feast, Folly and Fascination. F as in Fabulous pyrotechnic alchemists, for indeed, Groupe F plays with fire. It takes possession of the heavens and of the night, juggling with flames and ingenious devices, sculpting the air and the elements, directing symphonies of fire that excite and delight. After spraying showers of light all over the world, Groupe F has come to light up the Old Port of Montreal, setting hearts and minds ablaze and transforming the water in the river into a mirror reflecting a thousand poetic sparkles. At the heart of the festival is a flashing, fiery and dazzling evening a three-act play complete with epilogue that will warm the hearts of festivalgoers with ever more radiant light.

Groupe F
At the head of this diverse theatre troupe composed of architects, set designers, actors, musicians, acrobatic dancers, technicians and engineers are three multi-talented artists: Christophe Berthonneau, Éric Noël and Éric Travers. By inventing and building specialized tools such as a flame generator and a computerized firing system, Groupe F has become the world reference in terms of special effects, raising fireworks to the level of consummate art form.

Wherever Groupe F goes, it makes a big impression. After lighting up the Eiffel Tower on December 31, 1999, the Thames River at the inauguration of the Millennium Bridge in London in the year 2000, Expo 98 in Lisbon and the closing ceremony at the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992, Groupe F is inviting Festivalgoers to celebrate the halfway point of the 10th Festival de théâtre des Amériques with a scene of burning love between the skies of Montreal and the stars it will bring blazing forth. This dazzling performance will attract thousands of spectators.
