Wednesday, May 8, 2013Starting at 5:15 p.m. Bistro Olive Orange at Usine C1345 Lalonde Ave. Here’s your last chance to create your own personalized discount ticket package of 4, 8 or 12 shows, with your choice guided by recommendations made by artistic advisors Karine Denault and Martin Faucher. Many artists in this year’s program, including Christian Lapointe, Ginette Laurin and Louise Lecavalier, will be on hand to chat about their FTA presentations. The event offers an inside peek at outstanding performances featured in this year’s Festival.

2013 is off to a rousing start for the Festival TransAmériques, which has just been named as one of the 9 finalists for the 28th Grand Prix du Conseil des arts de Montréal, officially announced on January 8 by the new arts council chairman, the Honourable Charles Lapointe C.P..

Nous sommes ravis que le jury du Grand prix de la danse de Montréal, présenté par Québecor et doté d’une récompense de 50 000 $, ait choisi la  chorégraphe belge flamande Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker dont deux œuvres, En Atendant  et Cesena, étaient présentées au Festival TransAmériques 2012.

La compagnie italienne MOTUS, dont nous présentions deux spectacles au printemps dernier, s’est vue décerner le Prix de la critique dans la catégorie hors Québec pour Alexis. Una tragedia greca, une œuvre qui a enflammé les passions.

Strong Support for North America’s Largest Dance and Theatre Festival Montreal, 31 May 2012 – The entire Festival TransAmériques (FTA) team is thrilled by the success of its sixth benefit gala, with the funds raised earmarked for maintaining and developing the FTA program for co-producing new works. The total amount raised at the event came to $46,600. The money will be allocated for the support that the FTA provides year after year to local artists for the creation of new works that are bold and striking, and that resonate beyond our borders.

Montreal, 31 May 2012 – The Festival TransAmériques regrets that it must cancel the three performances of Solitudes solo by Daniel Léveillé, scheduled to have been presented on June 7, 8, and 9, 2012 at the Théâtre Rouge in the Conservatoire. Two of the five dancers in the piece have been injured, and it is thus impossible to present the performance.  Press Release
