Inferno is the first part of the triptych Inferno, Purgatorio, Paradiso as imagined by Romeo Castellucci (On the Concept...), and a direct response to Dante’s The Divine Comedy, which he discovered at a young age. In this dark, harrowing hell, the Italian director brings the childhood truth of emotion back to life, between the fear of guilt and the purity of being carefree.
