Exposition Promesses tenues de Jean-Louis Fernandez > Grand Foyer culturel at Place des Arts (near the box office).

For more than a month, from Chambéry to the Avignon Festival, French photographer Jean‐Louis Fernandez followed the rehearsals for Sang des promesses, Wajdi Mouawad’s quartet consisting of Littoral, Incendies, Forêts and Ciels. In close contact with the artists, he was a privileged witness to fleeting invention, the creative process and moments of searing intensity. This exhibit conveys the beauty and emotion of the experience.

The Japanese artist Saburo Teshigawara (Miroku) was filmed over the course of several months in Tokyo, Paris, Lille and Yokohama. Using the choreographer's own words, this documentary introduces viewers to his work behind the scenes and his entrancing, meditative universe.

An old man and a young boy perform the same choreography by Ginette Laurin (Onde de choc) inspired by the human dimension of everyday gestures, but their different ways of inhabiting the movement give us two readings of it.
