The honorary co-chairs for the evening, Mme Anne-Marie Cadieux and Mr. Charles Milliard are happy to have gathered 245 guests who helped raise $102,350.
“In the world of dance, receiving recognition from a European jury is deemed especially prestigious. Since 2008 such awards have been given to preeminent works of contemporary dance. In Vienna on August 17 during the closing ceremony of the ImPulsTanz Festival, something exceptional occurred. The director and co-founder of the Austrian festival, Karl Regensburger, “spontaneously created an award” for Yellow Towel, the solo by Montreal choreographer Dana Michel (presented at Festival TransAmériques in 2013)!”
Supporting New Work – An Essential FTA Mission.
Each year, several new works are created and unveiled as world premières at the Festival. In 2014, seven new shows from Quebec were presented on Montreal stages during the Festival:
